Brenda
Crenshaw moved to Orlando, Florida in
August of 1989 and began teaching in
the Orange County school system for
four years. In 1994 she left the
school system and soon began working
on film and TV sets as a
set-teacher. She was contracted
as a set-teacher by On Location
Education, a tutoring company out of
New York City. Her contracts
with OLE included film and television
sets such as Nickelodeon, MGM, and
Universal Studios.
In 1997, Mrs. Crenshaw started her
own private tutoring company.
Over the course of two years, she
developed an academic program that
adapted to the needs of child
entertainers and high-level
athletics. The program was so
academically strong that it had all
the essentials of developing into a
school. In 1999, the tutoring
company was closed and The Crenshaw
School was formed. The school
quickly became accredited by SACS and
CITA.
Mrs. Crenshaw also developed a
Private Instruction division of The
Crenshaw School to include additional
students who are schooled off
campus. Past and current private
students of hers include well-known
actors, musicians, and athletes such
as Justin Timberlake and Lance Bass of
N'Sync; Mandy Moore, film and
vocalist; Ty Tryon, PGA golfer;
Melanie Sinclair, international elite
gymnast; Brittany Snow, American
Dreams; and Taylor Ball, Still
Standing.
Mrs. Crenshaw graduated from
Louisiana State University with a
degree in chemistry and post graduate
work in Education
Administration. She is married
to Walter Crenshaw, Jr. and they have
a grown son and daughter.
